About

Hi, I'm Yashwant — a software engineer with 7 years of experience, passionate about AI, both applied and research, and about software engineering more broadly. My work has been mostly backend-heavy and centered on AI systems, but over my career I've had the chance to work across the stack: infrastructure, frontend (mostly React), and everything in between.

Since 2023, I've been a Senior Software Engineer at Airbus, where I build software and AI systems, and work on engineering for RDE, Airbus's internal cloud developer environment. One recent effort was the Airbus Design System MCP, which I created to let developers use code assistants to generate internal design-system code. I also help shape standards and governance for AI and software engineering across the organization.

From 2021 to 2023, I was a software engineer at Tech Mahindra (Cisco), building features for and owning a test-case management system that automated sanity tests on Cisco servers. And from 2019 to 2021, at Heptagon (now Digitide), I built a range of systems: an online auction platform for John Deere, a data-analysis application for AB InBev, and Focus, an internal face-recognition tool built on top of FaceNet.

Outside of my day job, I try to stay current by joining cohorts and intensive bootcamps, and contributing to the wider AI community. I'm also a certified AWS Solutions Architect – Associate. Recently I contributed to LightningLM, a 120B MoE model, on two fronts: I built the distributed training pipeline used across the whole training run, and I worked on the strategies and methods for growing the model from 3B to 8B parameters.

Away from the screen, I like hitting the gym to lift and stay fit. I used to dance and choreograph back in college — though I don't dance much anymore.
